Originally an area of allotments, Orchard Close emerged initially in 1990 as a row of 8 houses on the side of the road opposite the village hall & telephone exchange. Following the demolition on No 14 High Street which was right at the bottom of what is now Orchard Close, a second phase of building took place. Finally a third phase of building took place close to the telephone exchange
