The photo is of cadets that met at Hauxton, many of whom came from Harston. It is thought to be around 1953-4.
The adults were not any of the Hauxton officers, probably visitors.
The name of the Hauxton CO was Ted Lamen, assisted by CSM Colin Norman and Sgt Barker.
Ted lived in Church street and the others were from either Shelford, Thriplow or Fowlmere. However none of them were in the picture.
Back Row 1- 7 standing from L-R:
1 Roy Smith (Harston) 2 ? 3 Laurie Butler (Hauxton) 4 Collin Vallis (Harston) 5 ?
6 lance corporal Micky Chapman? 7 Peter Wick (Harston)
Middle Row: 3 visiting officers seated
Front Row L-R:
kneeling: ? kneeling: Robert Arbon (Harston) seated: Robert Knights standing: Graham Baker? (Harston)
Peter Wick was definitely underage when he joined, and left before he was really old enough to join, which I think would have been thirteen. Robert Arbon was not in uniform and unsure whether he eventually joined or not, although the Arbon family donated this photo.
Can anyone tell us more about this group?
