Harston Lunch Club would usually provide a two course meal for older residents of the village every Monday in the Village Hall, run by a group of volunteers.
Harston Lunch Club held its last meeting on March 9th (2020), before the official lockdown, but when the virus was becoming a concern especially for our more vulnerable members.
When lockdown was eased it was suggested that baking cakes for our 30 members once a month would be a way of keeping in touch and hopefully give them something to look forward to. Thus, in July, six of the lunch club cooks set to and baked! This proved to be much appreciated by all our members and has continued every month since. We hope to continue until we can all meet together again.
The photo shows some of November’s cakes to be delivered.
