In 1875 the house was acquired together with the land upon which the school was built. It was purchased at auction & became the schoolmasters house, the first being Mr Beaumont.
Mr Royston , the headmaster in early C20th, used to send one boy out of school to collect the walnuts from his garden tree before letting the lads outside as his house and garden joined the school playground.
Used by school master until about the 1970s? Does anyone know the actual date?
Appears mostly unaltered form outside apart from a one storey extension to the back sometime in late C20th.
