Mary Greene's paintings
John Roadley
Mary Greene produced a large number of paintings which have never commanded high sale values but many of hen are valuable as historic records of many parts of Cambridge which no longer exist. For that reason the Museum of Cambridge hold a significant number. Many others are in the possession of her family members and private owners. Her pictures occasionally appear in auctions.
The last time a large collection of her paintings was auctioned was in 1995 by the Cambridge auctioneers Cheffins. The relevant pages of their sales catalogue are here.
Below are photos of some of Mary’s paintings which have been collected from owners of her paintings, sales catalogues, websites, etc. The sources, where known, are credited after the painting description.
