All Saints new flooring
Information supplied by Nigel Richardson on the basis of a verbal briefing from Norman Jones.
Update 26 January 2021
We are now in Week Three. The old tiles have been taken up with very few breakages; atmospheric tests for asbestos and other hazards have been done; the soil base has been levelled and a black silicon sub-base put in, plus an East-West duct for possible future wiring.
During the work, what may be an ancient tomb has been discovered.
Lime-crete is now being added on top of the sub-base; then there will be two weeks of drying-out before the contractors add more screed and the tiling itself.
Thanks again to everyone for their support in making this possible. The photos above aim to give some idea of our progress. Please note the reassuring presence of Norman overseeing operations!
