William Richard Horner

William Horner was born on 11 July 1918, son of Arthur and Martha once of Hauxton Mill who moved to 10 Hurrells Row by 1937. He entered Harston School on 13 May 1929 and left on 29 July 1932.

He was a Gunner in the Royal Artillery 61st Anti-Tank Regiment. He died on Friday 6 September 1940 age 22. His military record states that he was living at Pinefield Camp, Elgin and was killed in a motor accident on the Elgin Calcots Road near Bareflathills St Andrews Lhanbryde.

He is buried with his parents in the Button End cemetery, row 6, grave 36
